Occupational Therapist, Psychotherapist
Associate Therapist

Meet Raza

“It takes more courage to reveal insecurities than to hide them, more strength to relate to people than to dominate them, more ‘manhood’ to abide by thought-out principles rather than blind reflex. Toughness is in the soul and spirit, not in muscles” – Alex Karras.

Hi there, my name is Raza, and I am a registered occupational therapist, psychotherapist in Ontario. I would feel privileged to accompany you on your wellness journey. My aim is to create a culturally safe space where we can work collaboratively to support you in identifying opportunities for growth and meaningful change.

How I Can Support You

As a registered occupational therapist, psychotherapist I have worked in both publically and privately funded healthcare settings over the past 3.5 years. I have supported individuals with depression, anxiety, addictions, severe and persistent mental illness, post-traumatic stress as well as workplace trauma and stress injuries.

As a South-Asian man, born to Pakistani immigrants, I have experienced first-hand the limited supports and stigma that still exist in BIPOC communities. The judgement and misconceptions around mental health are still deeply rooted in our spaces, and I am strongly passionate about combatting this stigma.

I aim to provide culturally sensitive services to men living through their mental health challenges in silence. I work through a holistic, trauma-informed lens to validate your experiences and emotions. I will collaborate with you to identify healthier coping strategies, to manage and understand your anxiety, depression, trauma, stress and emotional regulation

Why Work With Me

I strongly believe that you are the expert in yourself. With compassion and a non-judgmental approach, I want to support you in developing the skills and insight necessary to live a meaningful and purposeful life. Through our work together, I want to equip you with the strategies you will need to manage the day-to-day challenges and roadblocks that are preventing you from achieving personal satisfaction.

Types of Therapy

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps you identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. If you struggle with anxiety, depression, or negative self-talk, CBT teaches you practical strategies to challenge distorted thinking and develop healthier coping skills. By learning to reframe thoughts and take constructive actions, you can break free from cycles of stress and self-doubt. This evidence-based approach empowers you to manage emotions more effectively, build resilience, and create lasting positive change in your life.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) helps you develop skills to manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and build resilience. If you struggle with emotional regulation, impulsivity, or distress tolerance, DBT provides practical strategies through four core areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. By balancing acceptance and change, this approach empowers you to navigate challenges with greater stability and self-compassion. DBT fosters a sense of control over your emotions and behaviors, helping you create a more fulfilling and balanced life.

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) helps you understand and heal the different parts of yourself that shape your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. If you struggle with inner conflict, self-criticism, or overwhelming emotions, IFS guides you in recognizing and nurturing these parts with curiosity and compassion. By connecting with your core Self—the calm, wise, and centered part of you—you can bring harmony to your internal system and heal past wounds. This approach fosters self-acceptance, emotional balance, and deeper connections with yourself and others.

  • Culturally Sensitive Therapy recognizes and respects the impact of culture, identity, and lived experiences on mental health. If you’ve ever felt misunderstood or unseen in traditional therapy, this approach ensures that your background, values, and experiences are fully acknowledged in the healing process. By exploring how cultural influences shape your thoughts, emotions, and relationships, therapy becomes a space where you can navigate challenges without having to explain or justify your identity. This approach fosters empowerment, self-acceptance, and a deeper connection to your personal and cultural strengths.
