Psychotherapy is primarily a talk-based therapy intended to help people improve mental health and well-being. Psychotherapy occurs when the RP and client enter into a psychotherapeutic relationship where both work together to bring about positive change in the client’s thinking, feeling, behaviour and social functioning. People usually seek psychotherapy when they have thoughts, feelings, moods and behaviours that are adversely affecting their day-to-day lives, relationships and ability to enjoy life.

The process is first to schedule a free consultation which it gives you an opportunity to share what is troubling you and for you to ask questions. After the consultation, if we agree to work together then we would schedule our first session. The first session is for your therapist to get to know you better and understand your concerns and how therapy can support you. Together in this first session you and your therapist will agree to work together on a weekly or biweekly basis. From there it will be ongoing sessions at the scheduled date and time that was agreed upon. Clients tend to notice benefits anymore between 6-12 months of consistent therapy either weekly or biweekly.
