Meet Leah

I'm Leah Goldstein, a Registered Psychotherapist with a passion for supporting men's mental health. Since 2022, I've witnessed the significant gap in services available to men throughout their lives. Working as an addictions counsellor, I became acutely aware of the systemic barriers men face and the continued social pressures that lead to self-stigmatization around expressing emotions.

How I Can Support You

In my practice, I help men challenge the outdated rules of masculinity that can prevent them from living fulfilling lives. I create a safe space free from judgment, where you can explore your experiences and develop healthy coping mechanisms for emotional expression. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or simply feel like something needs to change, I'm here to support you.

Why Work With Me

I take an integrative approach, drawing from various therapy models to best suit your needs. This may include person-centered therapy, CBT, ACT, DBT, and more. I believe in the power of connection and trust, working collaboratively to discover your strengths and build self-awareness.

Types of Therapy

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps you develop psychological flexibility by teaching you to accept difficult thoughts and emotions rather than avoiding or fighting them. If you struggle with anxiety, stress, or self-doubt, ACT guides you in recognizing unhelpful patterns and shifting your focus toward actions that align with your values. Through mindfulness, cognitive defusion, and committed action, you learn to engage fully in the present moment and build a more meaningful life. This approach empowers you to respond to challenges with openness and resilience, improving overall well-being.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps you identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. If you struggle with anxiety, depression, or negative self-talk, CBT teaches you practical strategies to challenge distorted thinking and develop healthier coping skills. By learning to reframe thoughts and take constructive actions, you can break free from cycles of stress and self-doubt. This evidence-based approach empowers you to manage emotions more effectively, build resilience, and create lasting positive change in your life.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) helps you develop skills to manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and build resilience. If you struggle with emotional regulation, impulsivity, or distress tolerance, DBT provides practical strategies through four core areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. By balancing acceptance and change, this approach empowers you to navigate challenges with greater stability and self-compassion. DBT fosters a sense of control over your emotions and behaviors, helping you create a more fulfilling and balanced life.

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) helps you understand and heal the different parts of yourself that shape your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. If you struggle with inner conflict, self-criticism, or overwhelming emotions, IFS guides you in recognizing and nurturing these parts with curiosity and compassion. By connecting with your core Self—the calm, wise, and centered part of you—you can bring harmony to your internal system and heal past wounds. This approach fosters self-acceptance, emotional balance, and deeper connections with yourself and others.

  • Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) helps you identify, explore, and process your emotions in a healthy, constructive way. If you struggle with emotional overwhelm, unresolved feelings, or difficulties expressing yourself, EFT provides a safe space to understand the root of your emotional experiences. By working through your emotions and learning to process them more effectively, you can break free from unhelpful emotional patterns and strengthen your relationships. This approach fosters emotional awareness, self-compassion, and the ability to respond to yourself and others with greater empathy, ultimately improving your mental well-being.
